We are a bed shop with a difference. At Penrose Mill we are truly passionate about sleep and the benefits of using natural and sustainable fibres to enhance health and wellbeing. We don’t believe in a one size fits all approach to sleep. Sleep is a hugely personal experience and so we set about creating a service that offers individuals the chance to tailor make their bed and bedding to suit their personal preferences and needs. Founded in 2006 we created a market for the alpaca rural community by becoming the first UK bedding manufacturer to commercialise alpaca wool fibre to create an economy to help support their shearing. We now manufacture and sell natural fibre beds made using alpaca wool, sheep wool, horsehair and plant extracts to offer some of the most luxurious and sustainable beds and bedding in the UK.

We are committed to preserving artisan crafts and skills and are proud to handmake all of our beds and bedding. Our mission is to handcraft luxurious natural fibre bedding solutions at accessible prices whilst still honouring our core values of delivering sustainable, ethically made products, of the highest quality. All of our products are handmade to order in the UK. We are proud to offer Vegan, cruelty free, biodegradable and sustainable products so that our customers consciences, sleep as well as they do. We have been challenging the luxury market since 2006 to celebrate sustainability and have won several awards for our high end products that do not compromise responsible, ethical or environmental standards.
